Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking credit of major goverment schemes introduced by the Congress-led UPA government, during its rule at the Centre, alleged Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) vice-president Jagneswar Babu on Wednesday.
Babu said, Modi stating Congress is not doing anything shows there is an intellectual bankruptcy in him. All the major government schemes along with nuclear bomb, ISRO, DRDO, Food Security Act and MGNREGS Act have been introduced by Congress, he added.
Though there had been 15 surgical strikes during the Congress-led UPA government at Centre, the party was silent. However, Modi after conducting one such strike is mentioning it regularly to garner votes for his party.
The Army has the responsibility to protect the nation, therefore even after conducting 15 surgical strikes the Congress government had not publicised it. On the other hand, Modi, instead of praising the Army for the achievement, is overstuffed with self praise which is condemnable, said Babu.
