Bhubaneswar: The Congress party announced a major restructuring of its Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) on Saturday, with party president Mallikarjun Kharge approving the appointment of 30 new office-bearers.
The revamped OPCC team includes seven vice presidents, 10 general secretaries, 12 secretaries, and a treasurer. Siddharth Swarup Dash has been named the new treasurer for the state unit.
Among the vice presidents are seasoned leaders such as five-time MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati, three-time legislator Ramesh Jena, two-time MLA C S Raazen Ekka, and former MLAs Santosh Singh Saluja, Debasis Patnaik, and Lalatendu Mohapatra.
The general secretaries appointed include MLAs Ashok Das, Mangu Khilla, Pabitra Saunta, Nilamadhab Hikaka, and youth leader Syed Yashir Nawaz.
Additionally, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) designated Satyajeet Gomango as chairman and Santosh Pradhan as co-chairman of the OPCC’s social media department.
