Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and Parlakhemundi Assembly candidate Bijay Patnaik halted his campaign and returned to Bhubaneswar after suffering from a heat-stroke.
He fell sick while campaigning in severe heat. He also has a urinary tract infection. He has come back to Bhubaneswar for treatment, Patnaik informed it on his ‘X’ handle.
“I write to you with a heavy heart after suffering a heatstroke while campaigning in Paralakhemundi. A subsequent Urinary Tract Infection forced me to return to Bhubaneswar for urgent treatment and rest. Though this pause is temporary, your prayers and support are invaluable as I aim to return to the campaign trail swiftly. Thank you for your understanding and unwavering belief in @INCOdisha’s vision for Paralakhemundi’s future,” he wrote on ‘X’.
Patnaik also posted a video on ‘X’ through which he said that he would come back to the people of Paralakhemundi very soon after recovering from illness.
“I will be with you always. This fight is for justice. This fight is not about money,” he said.
