Bhubaneswar: The members of the Odisha Government Contractual Employees Association (OGCEA) withdrew their protest on Monday after the State Government assured of fulfilling their demands in the next 15 days.
Thousands of activists of OGCEA, including teachers had gathered in between Station Square and Lower PMG Square yesterday amid heavy rains demanding the abolition of contractual appointment rules.
The OGCEA has also demanded the implementation of a uniform rule for all Government employees. They want equal pay for equal work as the contractual employees also perform the same duties as the permanent staff.
