Bhubaneswar: The conversion of knowledge into wealth is the future for the country said Union Road Transport, Highways & MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari while addressing the students at 6th Convocation of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
"Technology and resources are important but the most important thing is appropriate measure and knowledge," he added. While placing his confidence on the young generation, Gadkari asserted that demand for Indian workforce overseas has been on the rise.
Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, who had attended the convocation as Chief Guest, hailing the words of Gadkari said that technology is not enough, innovation is not enough; theology must be a part of it.
During the convocation Honoris Causa Degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) was conferred upon Prof Debiprosad Duari, Director of Birla Planetarium in Kolkata.
Other than it, PhD degrees were awarded to 167 students, Chancellor's Gold Medals to 4 and University Gold Medals to 132 students in various disciplines. Similarly, 1243 Post Graduate degrees and 4542 Under Graduate degrees were awarded to students under various disciplines.
