Kendrapara: Violence erupted in Mahakalpada block of Kendrapara district when miscreants attempted to snatch the ballot box while voting was underway for electing the president of Bardanga Agriculture Service Cooperative Society.
Sub Inspector of Jambu Marine police station Rabindra Kumar Bhadra sustained injuries when tried to confront the miscreants, reports said.
Following the incident, one platoon of policemen was deployed at the spot. Meanwhile, the counting of votes has been completed, the reports added.
