**Bhubaneswar** In a gruesome incident, four miscreants chased and hacked a police constable in broad day light here on Monday.
According to reports, four unknown persons chased and attacked the constable with a sword in front of a The World Gym centre in Soubhagya Nagar in the Capital City.
The injured cop has been identified as Shakti Prasad Barik (26) and was admitted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar in critical condition.
Police sources said the four miscreants were searching the Gym owner Munna and his brother Bapi and had gone there with an intent to attack but couldn’t find them.
Meanwhile, they asked Shakti who was doing work out in the Gym about the duo’s whereabouts and when he said he didn’t know, they started attacking him with a sharp weapon.
The police constable has suffered deep injury on hand and head.
The police have seized the CCTV footage and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
