Boudh: A gruesome murder has rocked Balisahi village in Boudh district, where a police constable was allegedly stoned to death by his neighbour over a past enmity. Uday Ranjan Patnaik, posted in Baluguda police station in Phulbani district was killed by Sanjay Naik, who had a previous dispute with him.
The accused allegedly killed Uday four days ago and buried his body in a garbage dump behind his house. He threatened Uday’s son to keep silent, but the body was discovered after it started decomposing.
Police seized the body and detained Sanjay for questioning. A scientific team and dog squad are investigating. Boudh SDPO Lawrence Routray said the motive behind the murder will be revealed after a thorough probe.
