Cops’ Aid For Senior Citizens: Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police To Bridge Communication Gap

**Bhubaneswar:** More than 200 senior citizens of the Twin City attended a meeting organised by the Police Commissionerate here today. The senior citizens discussed important issues related to safety, security and registration process with senior officials of the Twin City police.

Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said, “senior citizen security is one of our top priorities and we are committed to serve them better.” The process in which the registration process can be made easier and the senior citizens can avail the service and facilities better is being strategised, he added.

“We are regularly sensitising our Nodal Officers to make regular visits to senior citizens in their jurisdiction. This will not only increase the sense of security, but improve the image of police and help in trust-building,” the Commissioner added.

There are around 2 lakh senior citizens in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack out of which around 15,000 have been officially registered with the Police Commissionerate. Mohanty appealed those senior citizens who have a computer at home, to help their counterparts in the locality to get registered.

“Besides, any senior citizen can drop at the facilitation centres and get registered directly. In this manner we can increase the number of registrations through networking in a significant manner,” he said
