Jaleswar: A woman was allegedly burnt alive at Rasalpur village under Bhograi police limits in Balasore district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Behera’s wife Archana.
As per reports, Archana was found crying for help inside the house completely engulfed by the fire in the morning. Villagers informed the police about the incident. Archana and Bhaskar reportedly got into a tiff after their two sons left for school. Later Archana was found shouting for help.
Upon being informed by villagers, the Bhograi police and fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire. The police recovered the charred body.
Meanwhile, police have begun an investigation to nab the absconding husband.
Police investigation is on to ascertain whether Archana had set herself afire or her husband had committed the crime, sources said.
