Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police have arrested 12 persons for their alleged involvement in pre-poll violence that took place on Friday in Bhubaneswar.
The incident had taken place in Laxmi Sagar area where the family members of a Corporator candidate were attacked by unidentified miscreants.
According to the police complaint, the husband, brother-in-law, and three other family members of BJP corporator candidate from ward no 33, Dharitri Jena, were attacked by the rival group.
The five persons were attacked near Laxmisagar Police Station when they had gone to lodge an FIR in connection with the tearing of some posters.
