Bhubaneswar: Counting of votes will be undertaken tomorrow at 70 counting centres, informed Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha.
“While counting of EVM and postal ballots will be undertaken at 69 out of 70 counting centres, at one place-Chhatrapur only postal ballots of Berhampur and Aska will be counted,” Dhal said addressing a presser here today.
The CEO further informed that as of now around 1,47,000 postal ballots have been received for Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) while around 1,46,000 postal ballots have been received for Assembly Constituencies (ACs).
For counting of postal ballots there will be one ARO (Counting) in each counting table which has been notified in the gazette and 500 postal ballots will be counted in each table, Dhal said.
Counting of postal ballots will be restricted to one round at all places, Dhal added.
“Counting of EVM will be undertaken in 3,589 tables. For Assembly 1799 counting tables will be utilised and for Parliament 1790 counting tables will used,” the CEO said.
