Couple Arrested For Killing Woman, Dismembering Her Body Into 31 Pieces In Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: Police on Sunday arrested a couple for killing and dismembering a young woman’s body and burying her body in a pit in Murumdihi forest under Raigarh police limits in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Saturday.

The arrested accused are Chandra Raut and Siya Raut.

According to earlier reports, the police had detained the couple after exhuming the body of the deceased, identified as Tila Gond of Bagbeda village. Tila had gone missing from her home on Wednesday. Her body was chopped into 31 pieces and buried in a pit in Murumdihi forest near Gona village under Raighar police limits in Nabarangpur district.

“Ludu Ram Gond of Raighar police limits had lodged a report that somebody has buried his daughter after murdering her. A case has been registered under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC at Raighar police station in this connection,” informed Aditya Sen, SDPO, Papdahandi.
