Nilgiri(Balasore): A couple sustained grievous injuries on Monday following a murderous assault by 10—15 miscreants in front of Iswarpur police outpost under Nilgiri police limits in Balasore district.
The couple has been hospitalised at Iswarpur Community Health Centre (CHC).
Nilgiri police have launched an investigation into the incident.
According to reports, Harekrushna Dhaundia of Bahabalpur village under Nilgiri police limits had an altercation with his neighbour in the morning today over encroachment of his land by the latter.
Harekrushna accompanied by his wife Anjali Dhaundia went to Iswarpur police out post to complain about the matter.
While Harekrushna and his wife Anjali were returning from the outpost after registering their complaint, they were brutally assaulted by 10—15 miscreants with sticks and bricks in front of the outpost.
