Koraput: In a tragic incident, a couple died by suicide at Bamuniput village under Jeypore Sadar police limits in Koraput district on Thursday allegedly following a family dispute.
The deceased have been identified as Suman Saura and his wife Sumitra Saura.
According to the police, Suman and Sumitra had a spat in the morning today. Following the spat Suman hanged himself using a saree. On noticing this Sumitra too hanged herself using a stole.
Jeypore Sadar police on receiving information about the incident at around 11.00 AM rushed to the spot. Jeypore Sadar IIC Iswar Tandi has launched an investigation into the incident with the help of scientific team. Both the bodies have been seized by the police for conduct of post mortem.
Preliminary investigation by the police suggests that the suicides were fallout of a family dispute.
