Bargarh: Tension prevailed at Gurudwar Chhak in Bargarh district on Sunday evening after a tragic road accident claimed the lives of a couple and left their two children injured.
The deceased have been identified as Harekrushna Dungri and his wife Kuntala Dungri, residents of Ambabhona block in the district.
According to reports, a Hyva truck en route from Sambalpur to the railway line collided with a scooter carrying the family. The couple died on the spot, while their two children sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, angry locals staged a protest at the accident site, alleging reckless driving. They demanded immediate compensation from the district administration for the bereaved family.
Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot, detained the Hyva truck driver, seized the vehicle, and started an investigation into the matter.
