Bhubaneswar: A couple was killed in a road accident near Fakirapada Chhak on the Cuttack-Machhagaon road on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Bichitrananda Behera and his wife Limina Behera, residents of Balijori village under the Paradip Port police limits.
According to reports, the couple was traveling toward Jagatsinghpur town when a speeding truck rammed into their motorcycle. Bichitrananda died on the spot, while his wife, critically injured, was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Jagatsinghpur, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Upon being informed, police reached the scene and seized the truck involved in the accident. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances that led to the mishap.
