Bhubaneswar: Tension triggered at Bhubaneswar airport on Thursday after a couple sought police protection apprehending danger from their families, which were reportedly opposed to their love.
The duo, travelling from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar, was escorted amid tight security from Biju Patnaik International Airport to the Airport police station, where the families of the lovebirds were already present.
The matter pertains to a doctor (the girl) and an IT firm executive (the boy), who are into a relationship for quite sometime. However, their families were opposed to the alliance.
Nothing less than a drama was seen at the airport and the police station when the couple was confronted by their respective families. According to reports, the duo had attempted to elope in the past.
Her father said that the youth had earlier withdrawn Rs 2 lakh from the girl’s account and a complaint in this regard was lodged at Khadagiri police station about six years ago. The police did not divulge much about this matter.
