Bhubaneswar: A couple and two bulls died after a truck hit a bullock cart on National Highway 49 near Tileibani in Deogarh district on Thursday. The deceased persons have been identified as Sarat Sahu and his wife Bisakha Sahu of Asurkhol village.
Reportedly, the couple were on their way to their farmland to fetch the reaped paddy when a speeding truck hit their bullock cart. The truck overturned after hitting the cart. Sarat, his wife and the bulls pulling the cart died in the accident.
The truck driver fled from the spot. Locals blockade the national highway demanding compensation to the family of the deceased. On getting information, police arrived at the spot and tried to pacify the people. The truck was seized and a probe was initiated.
