Bhubaneswar: Amid scare of the second phase of COVID-19 in the State, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today held a virtual meeting with district-level officials from Lok Seva Bhavan here.
Mahapatra asked the Collectors and SPs to ensure that safety and health protocols pertaining to COVID-19 are implemented sincerely by the public.
To check the spread of infection it is essential to test, identify and treat the afflicted. Then comes their quarantine for which proper awareness needs to be spread and ‘revised’ in the public.
Odisha did a good job to keep the spread of infection under control. The tempo has to be maintained and all stakeholders should work in cohesion to implement mask and social distancing norms, said Mahapatra, speaking to the officials, Sarpanchs, and Ward Members.
The Chief Secretary and senior officials highlighted the importance and effective implementation of thermal screening provisions at airports and railway stations. Among others, Development Commissioner, PK Jena, Additional Chief Secretary Health, PK Mohapatra, Panchayati Raj Secretary DK Singh, and senior officials were present.
