Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Monday closed all schools across the State and postponed the examinations of Class I to IX and XI in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
“All Government, Aided, Public and Private Schools of the State will remain closed and examination of all classes i.e. from class I to IX and Class-XI stands postponed,” read an order from the School & Mass Education Department.
Teachers have been asked to not attend schools but should remain available over the phone for specific instructions.
Examination for Class-XII shall continue as per schedule. Evaluation work for Class-X and XII will continue as per schedule following all do’s and don’ts prescribed by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
S&ME Minister Samir Das informed that handwashing facilities will be made available at the evaluation centres. Stringent action will be taken against those who ignore the guidelines issued to check coronavirus.
