Bhubaneswar: Active Covid-19 cases in the city climbed to 8,790 with reports of 1,360 new positives in the last 24 hours (till 9 AM of today), according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Out of the new positives, a massive 1,313 are local contact cases, while the remaining 47 are quarantine cases.
A total of 688 persons recovered from Covid-19 in the city during the same period taking the total number of recoveries from the ailment to 1,24,980.
The city has reported two more fatalities due to Covid during the same period with the toll mounting 1105.
While new cases have been reported from almost every part of the city, certain localities reported a very high number of cases like Khandagiri (126), Chandrasekharpur (109), Patia (106), Old Town (94), and Nayapalli (88).
