Cuttack: Three major markets in Cuttack have been divided into three separate regions each to avoid crowding in order to contain the spread of COVID-19, informed Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh on Monday.

While Balu Bazar and Chhatra Bazar will be divided into three parts tomorrow, Krushak Bazar which was earlier in two parts will be divided into one more part. Efforts are on to disperse the crowd which has been noticed in the market areas.

From now onwards there is restriction on use of vehicles. People have been requested to walk to nearest shop to buy groceries or vegetables or other essentials. If anyone is noticed moving on any two or four wheeler, the vehicle will be seized.

Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Ananya Das further informed that the civic body is carrying out sanitation of the market areas on a daily basis with the help of Odisha Fire Services to avoid contamination.
