Bhubaneswar: Though the Covid-19 situation in Odisha is much better in comparison to other states, the danger has not passed and the situation may turn critical, said Odisha Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra on Thursday.
In view of this, he advised that all should take preventive steps. People should avoid crowding, wear masks and maintain social distance during congregations, said Mohapatra urging all to get fully vaccinated.
He said that the number of Covid-19 infections has increased in a few states. However, the current situation in Odisha is not concerning. The positivity, hospitalization, and fatality rate is very low in the State.
But as there has been a rise in cases in other States, the surveillance would not be scaled down in the State. As per the government instructions, surveillance will be intensified if there is an increase in positivity rate, he added.
