Berhampur: Ganjam District Magistrate & Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange today warned of the possibility of a fresh wave of Covid-19 infections in the district if people do not adhere to Covid guidelines like maintaining social distance, wearing of face masks, etc.
“With new infections, it is not only that you will get infected, but you will also carry Corona to your home and put your family members’ lives in peril,” stated Kulange through a video message.
While thanking people of Ganjam for their support and efforts for the decline in Covid-19 infection in Ganjam, he lamented that of late he has been observing, many people flouting Covid-19 guidelines, many are not wearing masks when travelling in auto-rickshaws, buses and when moving outside.
In addition to that people are visiting markets without masks, he added.
The Ganjam Collector cautioned the people that the threat of Corona in Ganjam is not yet over and the danger still prevails.
He appealed to the people to seriously maintain social distancing norms and continue with the habit of wearing masks and hand washing.
He pointed out that it has been observed that shopkeepers are no longer following the ‘pancha sutra’-this will be putting the shopkeeper as well as the customer at risk and their families as well.
“We have to seriously continue with the habit of social distancing and till a vaccine or a cure is available for Corona. Keep yourself and your family safe,” Kulange appealed.
