Dhenkanal: Donation has been pouring in to the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) and lending support to the State in the fight against deadly coronavirus. While all the intentions are pure, the purest are those of tiny tots’ pocket money making way to CMRF in its battle.

Joining in the battle is seven-year-old Shyam Sundar Sahoo who gave his saved-up pocket money amounting to Rs 730, which was originally for buying a bicycle, to the CMRF.

The Class I student originally hails from Jajpur but lives in Dhenkanal with his parents. He says, “I used to collect currency coins from my father after he returned from work every day. I wanted to buy a cycle for myself, but in the current scenario my pocket money would be better used for the fight against coronavirus.”

Shyam with his father Santosh Kumar Sahoo met with Dhenkanal Collector today and made the donation.

16 positive cases were detected yesterday taking the total number of infected to 39, out of which two have recovered.
