Nabarangpur: As Nabarangpur district has been witnessing a constant increase in COVID-19 positive cases, the district administration has declared weekend shutdown in the district for the month of July.
“In view of the directives received by us from the State Government and after holding discussions with the district committee, local MP and MLA we have decided for shutdown in our district on Saturdays and Sundays till July 31,” informed Nabarangpur Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra.
Speaking to newsmen, Mishra clarified that shops will remain open from 7 AM to 2 PM on other days of the week while Saturday and Sunday will shutdown.
The Collector said that gathering of more than seven persons will not be allowed and if more than seven people are found to have gathered action will be taken as per law.
He added that violation of social distancing and wearing of masks norms will attract legal action as per law and imposition of fine too.
Mishra said as per the directives issued by the State Government night curfew shall remain in force in the district from 9 PM to 5 AM and added that any person or vehicle found moving without permits during curfew hours will be dealt with as per provisions of the law.
As per the Health & Family Welfare Department’s district-wise dashboard on COVID-19, the cumulative total of COVID-19 positive cases in the district as of now is 42 with 29 active cases, 12 recoveries and one unfortunate death.
