Berhampur: Covid-19 is currently showing a declining trend in the district, informed Ganjam Collector & District Magistrate Vijay Amruta Kulange here today.
“In the last 10 days testing for Corona has been increased but Corona positive cases are declining,” said Kulange in a video message.
The Collector thanked the people for the achievement and attributed it the cooperation extended by them in maintaining social distancing.
He said that this apart, the door-to-door survey for identifying persons with symptoms and subsequent testing and treatment are undertaken by the administration has resulted in the decline in the number of cases.
He appealed to the people not to conceal their symptoms and immediately inform on the surfacing of symptoms so that they can be tested for Corona and treated.
“Fight against Corona is your fight. You too are Corona Warriors. Your weapons are masks and hand sanitizers. Always use masks. Moving out without a mask is a threat to your family. Wear the mask properly. Stay at home. Unless it’s essential do not move out of your homes,” Kulange said.
The Collector warned that the month of August could be challenging.
While appealing people to maintain social distancing, he said that still many people have been observed to be crowding at temples, masjids, and churches; playing cards and gossiping under trees and in front of shops.
He warned that the administration and police will take strict action against these people and FIR will be registered against them.
Kulange said that in addition to the aforementioned all shopkeepers have been asked to maintain ‘pancha sutra’.
