Bhubaneswar: During the month of March the COVID-19 cases have dropped sharply in the State. On Monday, Odisha reported 43 new cases from 12 districts only. No new cases were detected in 18 districts of the State.
The test positivity rate of COVID-19 in Odisha, as on March 28 was 0.098 per cent, with 43,796 tests carried out on Sunday.
Among the new positive cases, only Khurda reported in double digits (10) while the rest 11 districts had single-digit figures with Balasore, Bargarh, Ganjam and Sundergarh reporting 1 case each. 29 of the affected persons are in quarantine while 19 are local contact cases.
The first COVID-19 case in the State was detected on March 16, 2020. Over the last 24 months, Odisha has recorded more than 12.87 lakh COVID cases out of which 12.77 lakh recovered. The State reported 9,119 COVID deaths which are 1.87 per cent of the fatalities reported across India.
