Bhubaneswar: Additional Chief Secretary (Health) PK Mohapatra today informed that Plasma Therapy will not be administered on COVID-19 patients in Odisha anymore.
Speaking at a review meeting convened by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today, Mohapatra said that the use of convalescent plasma to treat critical Covid patients has been discontinued.
He added that a total 368 new ICU beds for the treatment of COVID patients will be setup in the State very soon. By next week Covid testing will be enhanced to 70,000 tests per day across Odisha, said Mohapatra at the meeting.
“Covid infection rate across India is on a decline. The COVID positivity rate in Odisha was 21% during last week. It has come down to 18%. Our death rate has reduced from 0.40% to 0.37%. The death rate during the last 15 days has been 0.17%,” he added.
