Bhubaneswar: In view of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in Odisha’s border district of Nuapada because of its proximity to neighbouring State of Chhattisgarh where the deadly virus is more virulent, plying of buses between Nuapada and Chhattisgarh and vice-versa have been stopped.
This was informed by Director, Public Health Dr Niranjan Mishra today.
Speaking to reporters, Dr Mishra said that people of Nuapada district frequently visit Raipur and Mahasamund in neighbouring Chhattisgarh for marketing.
It is because of them coming in contact with people in these areas, Nuapada has reported more number of Covid positive cases, he added.
Through miking people are being asked and sensitized not to visit Chhattisgarh to contain the spread of the virus, Dr Mishra said.
He informed that contact tracing of those afflicted and testing of people for Covid-19 has been increased.
He appealed to the people to come out for testing and not hide symptoms if they have any.
