Bhubaneswar: In view of the rising trend in Covid-19 cases in some parts of the country and elsewhere, the Odisha government as a precautionary measure has directed to ramp up testing in all districts.
Chief District Medical & Public Health Officers (CDMPHOs) have been directed increase surveillance and test all symptomatic cases.
“We also target to increase testing. Through increased surveillance will get the symptomatic cases tested and go for contact tracing. We have to ensure that our testing rate is increased,” informed Director of Health Services (DHS) Dr Bijay Mohapatra.
Citing DGCA’s (Director General of Civil Aviation’s) advisory making wearing of masks mandatory for all air passengers and those visiting airports, the DHS said, “If positivity rate increases wearing of masks will certainly become mandatory”.
While 31 Covid-19 positive cases were detected in the state yesterday, 20 new cases have been detected today.
