COVID-19 Resurgence: Puri Jagannath Temple To Remain Closed On Weekends

Puri: The Jagannath Temple here will remain closed on weekends i.e. Saturday and Sunday for devotees from April 24 onwards. The temple administration has taken this decision during the Chatisa Nijog meeting held here today.

To check the spread of COVID-19, the temple premises will be sanitised during the weekends. The Nijog decided that RTPCR test negative report or second dose vaccination certificate will be mandatory for devotees coming to the temple from other States.

An enforcement squad will be setup comprising members of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri Police and Puri district administration. This squad will ensure strict implementation of COVID guidelines at the temple.

The use of mask, social distancing and sanitisers will be enforced strictly, reports stated.
