Balasore: Director General of Police (DGP), Abhay toured Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts on Sunday. During the visit, he reviewed the enforcement activities by the district police in the wake of the COVID-19 resurgence.
The DGP said that the police are on their job and expressed satisfaction over enforcement drives in both districts. “The people are also following COVID guidelines appropriately. I thank the people of Mayurbhanj and Balasore,” said Abhay.
Additional DGP (Law and Order) YK Jethwa who accompanied Abhay during the visit said 7 platoon forces have been deployed in Balasore and 4 platoons in Mayurbhanj. Both the districts are under the supervision of 27 senior officers.
Special border checkpoints have been set up at Laxman Nath and Udaypur in Balasore district and Jamsola and Suliapada in Mayurbhanj district.
“This apart, 28 posts have been erected on the border in Balasore and 32 posts in Mayurbhanj to prevent unauthorised and illegal entry of people from West Bengal. Mobile squads are patrolling the border to check intrusion,” Jethwa added.
The local Superintendents of Police and IGP Northern Range accompanied the senior cops during their visit to Balasore and Mayurbhanj today.
