Bhubaneswar: In view of the rise in Covid-19 cases elsewhere in the country and a possibility of the same here, people should take their precaution dose of the vaccine and those who haven’t taken their second dose despite it being due should take it immediately, said State Nodal Officer for Immunisation Dr Bijay Panigrahi.
The vaccination programme is underway and even mobile teams are administering vaccine, so they should get their doses sooner the better, Dr Panigrahi added.
Currently, the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ programme is underway in the State from June 1, ASHA and Anganwadi workers are doing a house-to-house survey to identify those who have not taken precaution dose or not taken second dose despite it being due or those who have not taken a single dose, the State Nodal Officer for Immunisation informed.
He informed that under the programme that is underway for the last two weeks, more than 28,000 first doses have been administered, 84,500 second doses and 33,056 precaution doses have been administered.
Under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ programme, a total of 1,46 334 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered, he added.
