Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the decline in cases in other States, Covid-19 situation in Odisha is likely to be better towards the second week of August, informed Director of Health Services (DHS) Dr Bijaya Mohapatra.
Dr Mohapatra said that currently Covid-19 graph in the State is rising but it is not spiking as suddenly as it used to in the 1st and 2nd waves, it is rising steadily.
“After rising for a few days, it is expected to plateau and then decline,” he added.
The DHS opined that infections are likely to rise in the districts as there is positivity in the community and people will be usually returning to their respective places since Rath Yatra is over.
“So we need to monitor the situation in districts. We have to carry on with our activity. The government is keeping a close watch over the situation. High level meetings are being held at different points of time to decide steps to be taken in view of the positivity rate in the community,” Dr Mohapatra said.
