Bhubaneswar: The state is witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases, with 7 more people testing positive for the virus. According to Public Health Director Dr. Nilakanth Mishra, the total number of infected people in the state has now reached 45. Out of these, 12 individuals have recovered, leaving 33 active cases.
This development comes amid a rising trend of COVID-19 cases in the country. India’s active caseload has increased to 6,133, with Kerala, Delhi, and Maharashtra reporting the highest spikes. The JN.1 variant remains the dominant strain, while emerging sub-variants NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 are being closely monitored.
The health authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation, and efforts are being made to contain the spread of the virus. Citizens are advised to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour and take necessary precautions to stay safe.
