COVID-19 Vaccination In Odisha: 95% Of Targeted Beneficiaries Covered On 2nd Day

Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 vaccination resumed on Monday when a total of 30,161 health care workers received the vaccines. The Government had planned five sessions in the Medical Colleges and major private hospitals, apart from one to two sessions at district headquarter hospitals and commuity health centres.

Today, there were total 375 active sites out of which at 39 locations COVAXIN was adminitered. The rest of the sites had a stock of COVISHIELD. A single minor case of AEFI (Adverse events following immunization) was reported.

“Today, a total of 380 sessions were planned and vaccination went on smoothly. Till 6 pm, 30,161 health care worker beneficiaries had been vaccinated, which turns out to be 95 % of the total listed beneficiaries for today,” a Health Department press note read.

The Health Department will hold a meeting with all districts to ensure enlisting frontlinw workers in the Revenue department. The districts have been asked to complete the registration process by January 25.

Odisha will receive 3,34,500 doses of COVISHIELD on Tuesday. This would cover all health care beneficiaries in the State, the Health Department stated.
