COVID-19 Vaccination: Odisha Registers 89% Of Target On Jan 20

Bhubaneswar: Total 7,946 beneficiaries received COVID-19 vaccines across the State on Wednesday. According to the data provided by the Health and Family Welfare Department, 93 sessions, in total were held in Odisha today during which 89 per cent of the target for the day was achieved.

The Department had planned to vaccinate 8,894 beneficiaries on January 20. However, all the 93 sessions were held smoothly in 30 districts, the H&FW Department informed. The good news being, no AEFIs (Adverse event following immunization) were reported in any of the sessions.

In Bhubaneswar, 17 sessions were held in which 1,674 persons were vaccinated. While the Department had planned to vaccinate 1,416 persons, the footfall turned out to be 118 per cent, which is welcome news and shows the willingness of people to receive the vaccines, a Health Department official said. Among the districts, 1,952 persons in Khurda, 1,268 persons in Sundergarh and 812 persons in Cuttack, received the COVID-19 vaccines today.
