Baripada: Sharing happiness amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, staff members celebrated the Raja festival with patients at KIMS COVID Hospital in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district.
On-duty staff members at the hospital celebrated the festival by decorating the feet of the women patients with Alata, a red dye, and cutting a cake.
It is for the second year in a row that Raja, a Gana Parba or mass festival celebrated by girls in Odisha, has turned it into an in-house celebration due to the pandemic.
Raja primarily being a celebration of girls and women, unmarried and newly-wed girls are glorified and pampered on the occasion.
It is celebrated over a period of three days in which people engage in amusements, fun, and sports. The women folk put on new attires and indulged in merry-making.
