Covid Scare: SRC Orders DMs, Municipal Commissioners To Track Kumbh Mela Returnees

Bhubaneswar: Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradip Kumar Jena today advised all Collectors and Municipal Commissioners to contact all persons from Odisha who have registered with Uttarakhand Government for participating in the ongoing Kumbh Mela, said an official press communique.

The SRC has shared the list of these persons with the Collectors and Municipal Commissioners.

Collectors and Municipal Commissioners have been directed to find out the location, travel plan of these persons and advise them to get themselves RTPCR tested before boarding train/ flight to Odisha.

All such persons must be personally tracked, their health condition monitored, the SRC has said in his communication to the Collectors and Municipal Commissioners.

“All of them shall be directed to quarantine them for 14 days at home or in Cluster TMCs. They must be compulsorily RTPCR tested. If Covid like symptoms are noticed, they should be immediately attended to. ASHA and Anganwadi Workers must visit them regularly in home / CTMCs and monitor their health conditions,” it added.

Further, all such persons will be advised to voluntarily self-isolate themselves and report to BDO/ Municipal/ NAC officers/ PHC/ CHC concerned about their condition. They shall further strictly comply with adherence to Covid protocols.

Collectors and Municipal Commissioners have been directed to furnish reports to the Health & Family Welfare Department and SRC’s Office on this issue on a daily basis.
