Bhubaneswar: The third wave of Covid-19 is yet to come, as per the available data, and its arrival will depend on the behaviour of the people, said Director of Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Dr. Ajay Parida, on Saturday.
Talking about the number of cases in Bhubaneswar, Parida said that as it is the State Capital, the concentration of people in the city is high and people are also crowding at shops and markets. The situation may improve in 10 to 15 days.
Parida further said that as the vaccines given in Odisha are on average 70 to 80 percent effective, antibodies will not develop in around 20 to 25 percent of people. The Central Government has not yet decided to give a booster dose or third dose for better protection from the virus.
