Bhubaneswar: To ramp up the administration of precaution doses of Covid-19 vaccine to eligible citizens, the Odisha government has decided to deploy mobile teams.
“To boost administration of precaution doses of Covid vaccine we have taken a variety of measures. All districts have been instructed to increase the number of vaccination centres. Already instructions have been issued to them to form mobile teams and conduct outreach sessions for the administration of precaution doses,” informed State Nodal Officer for Immunization Dr Bijay Panigrahi today.
Dr Panigrahi said that there has been a slight increase in the administration of precaution doses of the Covid vaccine.
“As of now, 46,66,000 precaution doses have been administered which is 14 per cent of our total target. The remaining will be vaccinated soon,” he clarified.
In the meanwhile, 9 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine provided by the Government of India has already arrived and another 6 lakh doses will arrive on the 10th, he said.
“Therefore, there is no shortage of vaccine in any of the districts and I will request all to get their precaution doses at the government vaccination centres,” Dr Panigrahi appealed.
