Covid Warriors: Flooded River Deters Not Malkangiri’s Brave Anganwadi Workers Duo

Malkangiri: While the Covid warriors of whole Odisha are on their concerted efforts to beat the virulent virus of the ongoing global pandemic in our state since its inception, the indomitable spirit and dedication of two tribal Anganwadi workers have earned laurels in this tribal-dominated district replete with hostile terrain.

The two tribal Anganwadi workers are Pramila Pelmal and Hemlata Shisa.

The duty-bound duo is catering to the emergent needs of the children and women of remote Suapali and Nerudupali villages of Swabhiman area (the erstwhile cut-off area) under Chitrakonda block deemed to be Maoist-infested.

Least bothered about the flooded river they are seen providing food to both the children and pregnant women there. They are even checking health of the villagers on regular basis.

Last but not the least, they are also creating Covid awareness among the tribal villagers.
