Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has made a concentrated effort to weed out sex racket operating in the guise of spa centres, salons and massage parlours in the capital city.
The onslaught comes in the wake of the recent busting a sex racket operating in a spa near Ravi Talkies in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking to the media, Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra said the onslaught aims to eradicate flesh trade operating in different spa centres in Bhubaneswar and adjoining areas. All police stations have been directed to take the matter seriously and conduct raids at all suspicious spa centres and saloons operating in their respective jurisdiction.
Talking about the racket unearthed near Rabi Talkies Square, Mishra said an FIR has been lodged with Badagada police station in this connection wherein a minor girl was forcibly engaged in a spa and tortured. Two people have also been arrested in this connection.
