Bhubaneswar: A crocodile was spotted in Mahanadi river in Cuttack on Friday. A large number of commuters halted on the Mahanadi bridge here to catch a glimpse of the croc which was lying idle on the river bed.
The Gharial croc was spotted under Madhusudhan Setu on outskirts of the city. However, the forest officials said that there was no need to panic as 17 gharials have been released into Mahanadi as per a programme.
Four crocodiles have been fitted with GPS. One of them is moving near Naraj while the other close to Banki, the officials said.
