Rayagada: Acting Assistant Commandant officer of the 4th Battalion CRPF camp headquarters here, Sunil Kumar allegedly shot himself dead with his service revolver on Tuesday. Sunil was the second in command of the battalion.
The reason why Sunil, who is a resident of Bihar, took the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
On being informed, Rayagada SP and senior police officials along with a scientific team rushed to the site.
While it is suspected that Sunil committed suicide, the police have launched an investigation into his death.
