Bhubaneswar: Puri Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra has confirmed that the police have found some important clues following the discovery of threatening messages near the Puri Jagannath Temple.
The messages, which raised serious concerns about the security of the sacred shrine, were found scribbled on the walls of the Budhi Maa Thakurani temple near the Balisahi entrance of the Heritage Corridor (Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa Marg).
SP Mishra said that the threatening notes were brought to their attention early in the morning through social media and other sources.
“We have found some clues during the investigation. Our special team is analysing CCTV footage and working to identify the individuals behind this act,” said SP Mishra while speaking to reporters on Wednesday.
The Superintendent added that the police are also probing the telephone number found written alongside the threatening messages to trace the culprits.
“Security at the Heritage Corridor is a priority for us. While some CCTV installations are still pending, we are verifying the functionality of the cameras in the area as part of the ongoing inquiry,” Mishra noted.
The investigation is ongoing and the police are committed to apprehending those responsible for this alarming act.
