Puri: Crude bombs were hurled and shots were fired following a group clash in Danduasi village under Bramhagiri police limits on Saturday night.
According to reports, two youths locals youths were beaten up by a rival group near a poultry farm in the village on Saturday morning over past enmity.
The youths managed to escape and allegedly planned an attack on the rivals. As a consequence of the morning incident, bombs were hurled in the village during the night. Several rounds of bullets were also fired, reports stated.
Two persons have sustained grievous injuries and have been shifted to the hospital. One platoon force led by local police IIC has been stationed in the village to avert any further escalation.
The incident was a rerun of bomb hurling cases that took place in the locality on February 24 and February 9, this year. At least a dozen were injured on both occasions.
The police had arrested six persons and later 21 persons involved in these incidents. Men of the village have fled Bramhagiri after Saturday’s case. The police have recovered three live bombs from the area and search is on to nab the accused persons.
