Bhubaneswar: A shocking incident of animal cruelty has come to light at Berhampur in Ganjam district where a group of miscreants was caught on CCTV brutally hacking a stray dog with a sword in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident occurred at around 4 AM in lane 7 of Gandhi Nagar in Berhampur. The miscreants, carrying swords, were riding a scooter when the stray dog, likely expecting food, approached them. In a disturbing display of cruelty, two of the youths got off the vehicle and stabbed the dog repeatedly, leaving it critically injured.
The CCTV footage shows the dog attempting to flee for its life as the miscreants chased it away from the scene. The incident has raised question why the miscreants were carrying swords in the morning and whether they had any ulterior motives. The attack on the stray dog has sparked outrage among animal lovers.
